Glass: Fusing90 and 104 Coe Lampworking Glass

Get your glass torch working supplies here! Lamp working, also called torch working or flame working, is the sculpting of glass rods and glass tubes by heating and melting the glass in the flame of a gas-powered torch. The torch worker has a high degree of control over how melted the glass becomes, as a result they're able to create pieces with immaculate detail and complexity.

Dichroic Glass

Dichroic Glass

Dichroic glass is glass containing multiple micro-layers of metal oxides which give the glass dichroic optical properties. The invention of dichroic glass is often erroneously attributed to NASA and its contractors[1], who developed it for use in dichroic filters. Dichroic glass dates back to at least the 4th century AD as seen in the Lycurgus cup

Glass: Fusing Fiber Products

There are two popular ways to protect your kiln shelf when fusing: Kiln Wash and this ThinFire Paper. Use this Paper Thin (or actually any of the fiber paper listed below) between the kiln shelf and your glass so the glass will not stick to the shelf. This saves you from coating the kiln shelf with kiln wash. It also creates the smoothest backing possible.

Glass: Cutters & Hand Tools

Glass: Cutters & Hand Tools

A glass cutter is a hand tool which aids in the cutting (strictly, the controlled breaking) of flat or sheet glass. The wheel is usually about 5 mm in diameter and made of hardened steel or tungsten carbide with its edge ground to a V-section. Cutting glass by hand is usually reserved for small, one-time jobs. A computer-assisted CNC semi-automatic glass cutting table is usually used to score large sheets of glass, which are then broken out by hand into the individual lites. Only annealed, and not tempered glass can be cut.

We are Authorized Distributors for Aanraku Bails. Aanraku bails are the industry standard for glass jewelry. Forget wire wrapping, setting in sterling, wire inclusions or drilling holes in your jewelry. This is the easy, fast, and simple solution for a great looking finish to your pendants. These bails are easily attached to the back of any kind of jewelry such as dichroic glass, metal or other solid materials. They can be attached with a small amount of glue or epoxy. Aanraku bails are recessed to allow sufficient glue to be used, helping to securely attach the bails to many types of jewelry surfaces. The recess also minimizes glue spreading beyond the edges of the bail and creats a nice clean appearance.
